Do The Right Thing and get your health check in 2015
Many people have a New Year’s resolution to get fitter and healthier for the coming year. We’re only half way into January and some of us are already finding excuses to go back to our old ways!
One of the easiest ways to check your health is to have a free NHS Health Check.
Mayor of Lambeth, Councillor Adedemola Aminu, has had his and urges other eligible Lambeth residents to follow in his footsteps.
‘I’ve had my health check and am glad I did. It’s given me peace of mind and has made me more confident about my health. It also gave me the chance to chat to the specialist nurses and get personalised advice about my lifestyle.’
If you are over 40, with no underlying conditions, health checks act as an MOT to detect potential health problems, such as heart disease, stroke and diabetes. It includes tests for blood pressure, cholesterol and BMI and gives you personalised advice on how to reduce the risk of developing problems.
