The new £2.6m public space around Clapham Old Town and Clapham Common tube station was officially unveiled on Friday.
The Clapham Old Town Regeneration Project is a joint venture between Lambeth Council and Transport for London, in collaboration with local residents.
It includes a new town square, wide step-free pavements with new zebra crossings, cycle paths and cycle stands, extensive landscaping with over 100 trees planted and new public seating.

Shame that the grass was so badly laid that it was dead in less than a week, due to lack preparation of the topsoil and no watering – it was removed yesterday. What a terrible waste.

why not a balcony in bloom competition,thier are some very nice ones that get a smile from all that look up at them!!
It would show that lambeth are 1 of the flower L A in London .1 winner from each ward within lambeth and a picture spread of all the displays.
Thanks for the idea Alan. There have been a number of national and local ‘in bloom’ competitions but nothing for balconies.
