Lambeth’s first Golden Ticket winners receive their cash prizes!

The winners, who placed their Golden Tickets in with their clean, dry and correct recycling, were invited to claim their prizes at a ceremony at Western Riverside Waste Authority in Wandsworth. They were also taken on a tour of the facility so they could see first-hand how the items they put in their clear sacks and estate recycling bins are sorted and prepared for recycling.

One of the winners, Emilia Zakrzewska from Vauxhall said “ I feel recycling is very important and was surprised to receive a phone call out of the blue informing me that my ticket had been drawn!”

As well as the individual prize winners, Edmundsbury Court Estate Tenants’ and Residents’ Association successfully applied for a share of the Golden Ticket Community Fund. They have been awarded funding to carry out a range of recycling and waste prevention activities on their estate including a composting scheme and a series of cooking lessons aimed at reducing food waste.

It’s not too late to enter your Golden Tickets, between now and March 2016, 60 Lambeth recyclers will win a £250 cash prize! Simply place your Golden Tickets in your clear sack or estate recycling bin with your clean and correct recycling.
