Since Afewee launched its Wednesday evening boxing sessions at Brixton Rec in May, they’ve been attracting around 20-25 people each week and the majority of these people have been female.
The class is based on non-contact boxing techniques, fitness and agility.
Due to popular demand, Afewee are now looking at the possibility of running more adult sessions.
Not only this, competitive boxing sessions for junior boys and girls between 11-16 have started on Wednesday at the Rec.
You can find out more about the boxing sessions of the Afewee Facebook Page.
Good to see more women on board with sport, especially boxing – Football Beyond Borders, a charity working with young people in Lambeth, London and across the world not only does football but also boxing with it’s women and girls, so clearly it’s popular (have a look at http://www.footballbeyondborders.org/)
