Christmas in Lambeth – Tuesday 1 to Monday 7 December

The festive season is upon us and whether you are looking for presents, shopping for ingredients or celebrating with family or friends you need look no further than Lambeth. You’ll find great shopping and fantastic entertainment in every corner of the borough.

Here are some of the festive events taking place this week:

Southbank Centre Winter Festival
Throughout December.
Award-winning entertainment for all ages, pathways of twinkling lights, bustling riverside markets offering food, drinks and gift ideas, a retro roller disco and their famous Vintage New Year’s Eve Party.

Mak-Orations Festive Craft Nights
Thursdays 3, 10 and 17 December, 6 – 8pm.
Start the festive countdown with AfroRetro and Black Cultural Archives.  Join Ugandan Sisters, Anna and Lilly in a festive explosion of crafting, UpCyling and making – Uganglish style!  Create a colourful array of festive decorations from three dimensional fabric stars to fabric paper chains and much, much, more.


Gabriel’s Wharf Magical Christmas
Saturday 5 December, 11am – 6pm, FREE.
Christmas shoppers on the hunt for something special can avoid the seasonal stress of the high street and enjoy a delicious festive treat and relaxed shopping experience.  Visitors will be treated to a free live performance from jazz band, The Valentinos. The afternoon ends with a special performance of classic Christmas carols from the National Deaf Children’s Society.

Green and ethical Christmas Fayre
Saturday 5 December, 11am – 4pm, adults £2, children FREE.
A traditional Christmas Fayre with stalls selling ethically sourced gifts and food. Visit Father Christmas and have lunch or coffee in the Green Cafe. Entrance includes access to the City Farm Nativity with animal petting and festive dressing up.

Herne Hill Christmas Fair
Saturday 5 December, 11am – 4pm, FREE.
Expect thigh-slapping fun, complete with haystacks and mulled wine, as musicians entertain on a live ‘hill-billy’ stage. You’ll also find a Santa’s grotto, a Christmas parade and you can try your hand at making festive tree ornaments, or just browse the stalls for the perfect Christmas gift.


Friends of Brockwell Park: Winter Fair
Sunday 6 December, 11am – 3pm, FREE.
You’ll find cards, plants, art and clothes on sale, along with seasonal cheer and a visit from Father and Mother Christmas.

Morley Winter Fair
Sunday 6 December, 11am – 3pm, FREE.
Discover handmade gifts, sample tasty treats, get creative with our fun family activities and enjoy an exciting programme of live music and entertainment.

West Norwood Feast
Sunday 6 December, 10am to 4pm, FREE.
Christmas shopping opportunities galore, from locally sourced produce to homemade crafts, vintage bric-a-brac, original art to toys and clothing.

Fresh ‘n’ Green: on the corner of Norwood Road and York Hill.
