Cllr Sonia Winifred, Cabinet Member for Equalities and Culture, said: “I am delighted with this initiative aimed at supporting our communities. The Community Gym is designed to welcome everyone to try a healthy lifestyle – if you’re starting out, going back to get fit in later life, or want to exercise in a safe environment, come and try out the free sessions on Thursday as a first step.”

Keep exercising after open day?
- Brixton Recreation Centre offers sessions in the Community Gym, separate from the main gym. Regular exercise improves your fitness and wellbeing, making you less prone to physical and mental health problems. Exercise is also a great way to socialise or meet new people.
