Do I need to respond to the letter?
You must respond if:
- Your communication says a response is required.
- Any information is incorrect, such as a name or nationality.
- Someone eligible to vote at your address is not listed.
- Someone named on the form no longer lives at the address.
How can I respond?
The quickest and easiest way to respond is online at householdresponse.lambeth.gov.uk.
Don’t throw your letter away as it has a two-part security code you will need. Any member of your household can respond for everyone.
What happens if I do not respond?
If your communication requires a response and we do not hear from you, we may need to visit your property to confirm the voter details.

Overseas voter registration renewals
British overseas voter registrations must now be renewed every three years. Lambeth Electoral Services will contact affected overseas voters from 7 September 2026.
If your overseas registration, or that of a friend or family member, is due to expire this year, it must be renewed by 1 November 2026.
The easiest way to renew is online at GOV.UK. You will need the nine-digit access code included in your renewal letter or email.
Renew your postal vote or refresh your proxy vote
Postal votes are now valid for a maximum of three years. If you applied before 31 October 2024, you must renew by 31 January 2027 to continue voting by post. Renew online through the GOV.UK postal vote service, or request a paper form using the contact details below.
Permanent proxy voters must refresh their signature every five years when asked. You can upload your signature via the council website or return it in the provided prepaid envelope.
Look out for renewal or signature refresh information from Lambeth Electoral Services from 5 November 2026.
