Local people can get their first taste of working in construction as part of the new Sainsbury’s development at Nine Elms. We’ve negotiated with the developer to make sure local people get work and training opportunities during construction and beyond.

Fancy building the new Nine Elms?

More than 50 young people will have the opportunity for work experience and there will be 40 new apprenticeships created.

The £450million development includes a replacement store, new shops, 737 new homes and space for the new Nine Elms tube station. There will be 500 jobs in the new store and up to 290 new jobs are expected elsewhere in the development once it’s complete.  At least a fifth of the new jobs will be for local residents.
