Who are Trees for Cities?

Trees for Cities is an environmental charity with over 20 years experience working with environmentally and socially disadvantaged urban communities to plant trees in cities. We work with communities to plant trees in streets, housing estates, schools and parks. We grow stronger neighbourhoods, enhance urban landscapes and improve health and happiness.

Trees for Cities have been busy across Lambeth, to read more about their work please visit the Trees for Cities website or these Love Lambeth articles:

Fundraising event – Freeze for Trees

Come and join our special guests Jon Snow and Doon Mackichan in our Christmas fundraiser event; Freeze for Trees – Midwinter Swim. Take the icy plunge into Brockwell Lido’s glorious waters this December to raise money for Trees for Cities. You can choose whether to swim a lap or two, or just jump straight in and out.

When: 13th December, from 10.30am, jump in at 11.30am
Where: Brockwell Lido, Brixton
Registration: £15

Participants can enjoy a hot shower afterwards, a goodie bag, a complimentary hot drink and mince pie, festive live music, and a whole lot of Christmas cheer.

Fancy dress is strongly encouraged and there will be prizes for the best outfit.

Spectators are most welcome; there will be hot food and drink available – including some delicious mulled wine, provided by The Lido Cafe. All funds raised from the group jump-in will help Trees for Cities to continue planting trees in streets, housing estates, schools and parks.
