Get your family protected with extra Flu Clinics for School-age Children

Anyone can catch the flu, and for some, it can be serious. Even if you had a flu jab last winter, you’ll need another one this year to stay protected. Getting vaccinated reduces the risk of severe illness and hospitalisation.

Word from the Cabinet

Cllr Timothy Windle, Lambeth’s joint Cabinet Member for Healthier Communities, said:

“Flu isn’t just a bad cold – it can be much more serious, especially for those most at risk. The flu jab is a simple and effective way to protect yourself and others. For children, the nasal spray vaccine is quick, painless, and helps prevent flu and complications like bronchitis and pneumonia. By vaccinating your child, you’re also helping to protect vulnerable friends and family. And remember, antibiotics won’t cure flu or speed up recovery – prevention is the best defence.”

No child left out

To ensure that no child is left out, the school-age immunisation service is offering additional flu vaccination clinics at trusted local community centres. These clinics are available for children who missed their in-school flu vaccinations.
