This summer’s show will keep its distinctive celebration, highlighting the best of both the city and countryside.
Cllr Donatus Anyanwu, Cabinet Member for Stronger Communities, Leisure and Sports, said: “I’m delighted the Lambeth Country Show will return this summer for its 50th anniversary edition. The Lambeth Country Show is the jewel in the crown of our borough’s exciting programme of events.
“We have worked hard to keep this as a free community event, despite the very tough financial times we face, because the Lambeth Country Show is a brilliant opportunity for our communities to come together for a safe, inclusive and most of all a fun time.”
The annual event has been held by Lambeth Council since 1974 and combines the best of the city and the countryside, with live music, sheep shearing, vegetable sculpture competitions, community stands and so much more. More than 100,000 people attended over the weekend in June 2023.
Dynamic performers keen to share their talent, and those who have crafted fun, engaging and interactive workshops they want to share, can now apply to take part in the Lambeth Country Show, with applications open until 11pm on February 11.
Applications for traders, charities and community groups wanting to trade or exhibit at this year’s show are also open as planning for the huge event progresses. All trading and exhibiting applications must be made by Wednesday, 31 January at 11pm.
