With Veolia’s Recycling Fund for Communities you could receive a cash boost of up to £2000, in-kind resources, or staff volunteers to help bring your idea to life! To be eligible, your project must demonstrate one of the following:
- Use of recycled, reused or reclaimed materials
- The ability to protect and preserve resources or enhance local environments
Projects doing the right thing…
The fund has already supported three projects in Lambeth:
Tritton Vale Pocket Garden
Volunteers from Tritton Vale Pocket Garden, West Norwood, received funding to buy a rain-water harvesting system for their community garden. The Pocket Garden is now approaching its two-year anniversary, turning fly-tipped vacant land into a beautiful garden for the local community.
Food Growing in Clapham Park
Volunteers approached us for funding to help run a gardening course to upskill enthusiastic volunteers looking to grow food in the park. Following the session, the team have been able to plan what vegetables to grow for the year ahead.
Thames Litter Pick
Sophie Dunster from Gung Ho Fashion applied to the fund to help with a litter pick along the Thames, an initiative that is now becoming a monthly event: “With the support of Veolia we have not only started a monthly London Beach Clean up, but also a social where other like- minded people can come for a few hours to socialise and help make a difference. It was wonderful to see such a variety of ages with such passion. Please do get in touch if you’d like to join us
