From poetry to playwork, administration to art curating, there is something for all manner of interests and ambitions. The participants will be given free training and ongoing support, as well as the opportunity to meet new people and have a lot of fun.
The project aims to give young people a stake in their community, and to provide real experience to boost CVs for future employment. Providing young people with new skills and improved confidence will also help to regenerate the Lambeth, as increased participation in volunteering can benefit the whole community. They will have the opportunity to improve their C.Vs, gain a professional reference and have fun along the way! If you’re at a bit of a loose end then why not give us a call”.
Volunteering is proven to improve employment success – in fact, according to a survey conducted by jobsite Reed and Time Bank in 2009, 80% of employers value volunteering when they recruit staff. So this scheme really could make a difference to young people in the local area.
