Lambeth Walk Doorstep Green, Pedlar’s Park and Windmill Gardens have all secured Green Flag Award accreditation for the first time, adding to the borough’s existing 26 council-managed award-winning sites. It means Lambeth Council now manages 29 Green Flag Award sites; the highest number it has ever achieved.
Jubilee Gardens in Waterloo, which is managed by the Jubilee Gardens Trust, has also received the award for a sixth year in a row. This brings Lambeth’s Green Flag sites to 30 on the 30th anniversary of the Awards.
The awards recognise the commitment of Lambeth Council staff, residents, volunteers, friends’ groups and community partners. They tirelessly protect, improve and maintain the borough’s parks and open spaces so they are safe, welcoming, accessible, sustainable and well cared for.
The awards are made annually, and winners must apply each year to renew their status. In addition to the exciting three new awards, all of Lambeth’s parks retained their awards, including three Green Heritage and four Green Flag Community Award sites.

Cllr Natalie Kane, Deputy Leader for Inclusion, Democracy and Culture, said: “We are absolutely delighted that Lambeth Walk Doorstep Green, Pedlar’s Park and Windmill Gardens have secured Green Flag accreditation this year and for the first time. To now have 29 Green Flag Award sites, which is almost one third of all of our public parks and green spaces, is a true testament to the hard work of Lambeth’s residents and Council staff to provide us with safe, welcoming, accessible and sustainable place we can all be proud to visit and use.

Yet for millions of people, particularly in the most deprived areas, local parks simply don’t feel safe or welcome. With public services under pressure, investing in parks is not a luxury, it’s a practical, preventative solution and one of the most visible ways to improve people’s quality of life.”

Agnes Riley Gardens, Archbishop’s Park, Brockwell Park, Clapham Common, Eardley Road Sidings Local Nature Reserve, Hillside Gardens Park, Holmewood Gardens, Kennington Park, Lambeth Walk Doorstep Green, Larkhall Park, Milkwood Community Park; Myatt’s Fields Park, Old Paradise Gardens; Palace Road Local Nature Reserve, Pedlar’s Park, Rush Common, Ruskin Park, St John’s Churchyard, St Paul’s Churchyard, Slade Gardens, Streatham Common, Streatham Rookery, Ufford Street Gardens, Unigate Wood Local Nature Reserve, Vauxhall Park, Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens, West Norwood Cemetery, Windmill Gardens; and Wyck Gardens.
Jubilee Gardens has also retained its own Green Flag Award, bringing the total to 30 Green Flag Award sites across the borough of Lambeth in 2026.
