The annual event has been held by Lambeth Council since 1967 and combines the best of the city and the country side, with live music, sheep shearing, vegetable sculpture competitions, community stands and so much more.
Cllr Claire Holland, Lambeth Council’s Leader, said: “I’m delighted that we held such a successful Lambeth Country Show again this year, and keeping it free to enter is a real priority for this council.
“The country show offers so much for our residents, an opportunity to socialise, learn more about all the different community groups here, find out about the various projects going on in the borough, and more than anything – just have fun being immersed in the fantastic diverse music, cuisine, arts and so much more that our wonderful borough has to offer.
“We’ve worked hard to put the country show on a stable financial footing to ensure its future, and made it as safe as possible for all our young people to enjoy. I want to thank everyone who was there over the weekend, and everyone who worked so hard to make it happen.”
To save costs this year’s Lambeth Country Show was run in partnership with events company Brockwell Live, sharing the site with other ticketed festivals that have run over the previous two weekends. This arrangement achieved a significant saving.
The event featured a LatinoLife stage for the first time and saw successful soul singer Omar headline the main stage on Saturday. Sunday was Roots Day on the main stage and saw Anthony B headline. To find out more and to complete a visitor survey use the following link – lambethcountryshow.
