Lambeth: Date set for Myatt’s Fields by-election following death of local councillor

The by-election was called following the death last month of Cllr Annie Gallop, who had served on the council for more than a decade.

Nominations for candidates seeking to stand in the poll are now open, and will close  at 4pm next Friday, 11 September.

The deadline for registering to vote in this by-election is Tuesday 22 September, at midnight.

The quickest and easiest way to register to vote is online, at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote. You will need your National Insurance number, if you have one, in order to register to vote.

Voters will need to show photographic ID to vote in person at polling stations at this by-election. More information on the by-election, including the accepted forms of photographic ID required to vote, is available on the council’s website.

The site also gives details of the Voter Authority Certificate (VAC), a free photographic identification document which can be used to vote in person at a polling station. Voters can apply for a VAC online, in person at Lambeth Town Hall, or by post.
