Lambeth leisure centres are putting indoor fitness, swimming, skating, and team sports back on  their weekly programme of classes  and sessions.

Lambeth leisure centres offer much more as restrictions lifted

In line with the Government’s roadmap out of lockdown, Lambeth leisure centres re-open with more indoor activities from 17 May, including:

  • Indoor fitness classes
  • Adult swimming lessons and courses
  • Public Ice Skating
  • Indoor team sports for adults – delivered to Covid safety guidelines

These join our current weekly programme of gym, swim for fitness, swim for all, swim school for children and young people, badminton, squash, junior and disability indoor team sports.

Word from the Cabinet

Cllr Donatus Anyanwu, Cabinet member for the Voluntary Sector and Leisure, said: “Lambeth Leisure Centres are not just reopening, they’re expanding. They’ve added even more fun and motivating new classes to inspire the whole community.  of people coming out of lockdown to start or restart their fitness journey for better physical and mental health.”

Indoor Fitness

We’re pleased to add Combat and beginner Dance Fitness into the mix alongside Zumba, Pilates, Aqua Aerobics and more! We have added more of your favourite classes and fun, motivating, workouts.  View our weekly exercise classes via our Better app and choose your nearest centre or go online. Back to Better

There’s no better way of getting (back) into fitness than Lambeth’s ‘Back to Better’ free taster classes for anyone over the age of 16 years who’s new to exercise or after a prolonged break. Combination classes are your chance to try different classes to see which one is suitable for you. Each class lasts for 40 minutes combining Cardio, Pilates, Yoga, Conditioning and Dance. Find them online or on the app

Ready for class

  • Please arrive 10 minutes early. The instructor will take you to the class.
  • If you can, bring your own mat for Yoga or Pilates.
  • As changing rooms will not be in use, please bring only the essentials (towel, water bottle) and arrive ready to exercise.

How to book your classes

Book online or download our Better smartphone app. Members and non-members can book. If it’s your first time booking, please register through our website. Bookings open 7 days in advance for members and 5 for casual users. If you must cancel, please give at least four hours’ notice and give  somebody else a chance. Late cancellation or missed bookings incur a £3 charge to be paid in full before booking further activities. By using the Better UK app, you’re doing your bit to support others and keep our community moving!
