The Active Lambeth Athletes Programme has been developed by Lambeth Council to foster and elevate the aspirations of gifted athletes in the community. Through the scheme athletes receive vital backing, including financial assistance and unrestricted admission to Active Lambeth leisure centres. By equipping these talented individuals with the tools they need to succeed, Lambeth Council aims to raise the standard of sporting excellence in the borough.
The programme targets athletes competing at County level or higher in sports recognised by Sport England. By providing crucial support and resources, Active Lambeth aims to nurture the next generation of sports stars within the borough.
As well as access to Active Lambeth leisure centres, they will receive financial up to £1,000, which can be used to support their training, including covering the cost of equipment, competition expenses and specialised coaching.
A Lambeth Council spokesperson said:
