This month we welcome Cllr Saleha Jaffer who takes over the role from Cllr Donatus Anyanwu as the new Mayor of Lambeth (page 6)

Eight girls from Streatham Ice and Leisure Centre competed in the Copenhagen Dance Cups 2016 and won eight medals! We present them on page 8.

On page 10 the Young Mayor Diogo Costa presents the Youth Council’s plans including a careers fair at Lambeth College.

Lambeth is already gearing up for this year’s 42nd annual Country Show with more than 300 attractions confirmed for the weekend. Find out more on page 14.

Our regular ‘From the community’ feature presents ‘Father Nature’ a community gardening scheme organising planting days, park sleepovers and outdoor classrooms across Lambeth (page 16).

Workwise is a partnership with charity St Mungo’s to help council tenants at risk of losing their  homes -and they have helped 198 residents so far. This story and more Housing news on page 20.

What’s on in Lambeth in May? Lots of things, as always! A free film festival, singing sessions for children, a poetry competition waiting for your inspired submissions and tickets on sale  for the afternoon tea at the Lambeth Palace gardens (pages 24-25).
