It certainly wasn’t a silent night in Brixton last night (Thursday 21 December), as Lambeth residents gathered in the Town Hall for the Festive Jam – a party to celebrate the end of the year with free food, entertainment and music.

Lambeth thanks residents with Festive Jam

The assembly hall was transformed into a gigantic grotto with a vast array of seasonal treats on offer from tasty hot food, candy floss and popcorn to face painting and magic shows, culminating in a performance by the Brixton Chamber Orchestra.

We’re extremely grateful to our contractors for funding the event and making it possible to thank our residents in person.

Councillor Maria Kay, Cabinet Member for Better Homes and Reducing Homelessness said:

“We know the past few years have been extremely hard for many of our residents, particularly with the continuing cost of living crisis and it’s great to have the opportunity to meet and talk to so many members of the community in such a relaxed and festive setting.”

The Festive Jam was wholly funded by donations from (in no particular order): Fortem, Langley, OCO, NRT, Wates, APCOA, Coldrum, Pinnacle, Niblock, Integral, T Brown, Openview, SER and Neilcott.
