Statement: CPS authorises charge of murder for Met firearms officer

“Since his shooting by the police on September 5, 2022 in Streatham his family and our community have been seeking answers, and we have been supporting them to do that.

“Today’s announcement that the Crown Prosecution Service has authorised a charge of murder for a Met firearms officer in relation to the shooting is a significant moment on this path to getting to the truth.

“Our thoughts are with Chris’s family, and we will continue to support our communities at this difficult time, and as this legal process continues.”
