Volunteer advice guides sought for community outreach

One Lambeth Advice is seeking new volunteers to help enable citizens to get the information and advice they need.   One Lambeth Advice has been designed to provide help and advice with problems relating to:

  • Benefits
  • Debt and/or money
  • Work
  • Housing
  • Goods and services

Volunteers are key
Volunteer advice guides are trained to play a key part in One Lambeth Advice. The role is an exciting and challenging one, where volunteers gain valuable skills in a customer facing role helping people help themselves and signposting to specialist services where necessary. Open to people of all ages, The Citizens Advice Bureau offers a great training programme and opportunities for further learning and development within the role.

Community-based
Guides are based in a range of community settings throughout the borough including: GPs surgeries, advice agencies, community centres, council offices and more. They have access to internet connected computers and to telephones.

Get involved!
If you are interested in volunteering as an advice guide, an information session is being held this Friday, 18th of July.  Please email Rosalyn Springer for more information.
