The development of 31 new homes includes social rent one and two-bedroom apartments, as well as accessible and much-needed larger family homes with three or four bedrooms and some private homes.
Councillor Claire Holland, the Leader of Lambeth Council said:“Building new affordable homes that our residents desperately need is a key priority for us. We are working really hard to play our role in tackling the housing crisis which is having such a devastating impact on our borough and across London.
“Patmos Lodge is a prime example of the high-quality, energy-efficient, sustainable, modern homes we want to provide for our residents. The new homes will meet the needs of some of the homeless families in Lambeth who desperately need a permanent place to live.
“I am delighted that over 56 residents will be moving into their new homes shortly and we are also making further modifications to the accessible homes to suit the needs of those vulnerable residents so they can also move into their new homes soon.”
As part of the new homes scheme at Patmos Lodge the council is also offering 12 homes for private sale and will use the money raised to re-invest back into providing more much needed new affordable housing in the borough.
All the homes at Patmos Lodge have been built to high- energy efficiency standards with air-source heat pumps and solar panels included in each property. The interiors are airy with large windows and balconies along with cycle storage options to encourage active travel.
Alongside the sustainable new homes, Patmos Lodge has also created numerous skills and job opportunities for Lambeth residents. Ten new jobs have been created for residents, with four apprenticeships and three work experience placements for students and young people.
Patmos Lodge is one of the latest affordable housing developments completed by Lambeth Council. Further new affordable housing will be delivered in 2025 with the upcoming completion of 81 new affordable housing units at the Roman Rise, Fenwick Place, and Fenwick South projects on the Central Hill and Fenwick estates.
