The announcement that the council is stepping in to secure the future of the facility came after the current operator, Fusion Lifestyle, entered administration on April 1, following a prolonged period of financial difficulty.
Fusion Lifestyle, which has sites across the country, has been in discussions with the council about the future of this highly-valued community facility. The transfer will see Brockwell Lido move into council management this summer through Active Lambeth, Lambeth Council’s in-house leisure service.
The council’s priority is to maintain continuity of service, protect public access to the site and secure the long-term future of Brockwell Lido for residents.
Existing memberships will continue, with further information to be provided to members in advance of the transfer date. Brockwell Lido will become part of the wider Active Lambeth offer, giving users access to a broader range of leisure opportunities across the borough.
Staff and Lido members will experience continuity of service throughout, with minimal disruption expected for all users. The future management of the facility will be discussed with lido users and the local community.
Further details are available on the Fusion Lifestyle website.
