Hundreds of candidates confirmed for Lambeth local elections

Lambeth Council has confirmed that 309 people have been nominated to stand in the borough’s 25 electoral wards, after the final deadline for submitting nominations passed on Thursday (9 April).

The official Statement of persons nominated in each ward gives the name and party of each candidate, plus additional details including the names of the people who have proposed and seconded their nominations.

An election will be held for all councillors in each of Lambeth’s 25 electoral wards, on Thursday 7 May. Each ward will elect either two or three councillors.

Full details of the 2026 poll are available from the “Voting and Elections” pages on Lambeth’s website. The site also provides a useful run-down of the identification details all voters will need to bring with them in order to be able to vote at these elections. Under the Elections Act 2022, all polling-station voters must present a form of accepted Voter ID to receive their ballot paper.

Accepted documents include a passport issued by UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man, a British Overseas Territory, EU/EEA state or Commonwealth country, a driving licence (or provisional driving licence) issued by UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man or EU/EEA state, a Blue Badge or Older Person’s Bus Pass.

The full list of accepted ID documentation is available on the council website.

The Voting and Elections pages also provide important information on key dates and deadlines for voters, including:
