Have you ever wanted in-depth details of Lambeth’s financial position? Or the housing crisis? Or just how the council is spending the borough’s money? theBALANCE issue 24 is out NOW!

Main post content

August’s instalment of theBALANCE unveils Lambeth’s Equality Commission report, following months of evidence-gathering and consultation with commissioners, experts and hundreds of residents. The Commission’s final report catalogues a series of inequalities many people in Lambeth have to live with every day, in every area of their lives despite the outward successes of the borough, as well as issuing recommendations on how to break these barriers down.

Also featuring in this edition are details on Lambeth becoming one of the first local authorities in the country to announce it’s new business rates support scheme.

In addition, there’s a raft of other news, including an announcement that Santander Bicycles are coming to Brixton; the launch of a new campaign for Better Air in Lambeth; an update on fire safety works in the borough; news of the council beating its affordable homes target; and range of updates from across Lambeth’s libraries.

There’s also news on Lambeth’s parks receiving a record 14 green flags at this years’ awards, as well as a chance for you to have your say on the changes coming to Waterloo.

And if all of that isn’t enough, then you can also catch up on readers’ feedback on the issues raised in the last edition, and from all previous editions, of theBALANCE.
