Nominate unpaid carers and those who support them for Lambeth’s Carers Awards 2024

The Lambeth Carers Awards are now open for nominations. Submit your nominations by 7 July using our online form and give someone in your community the recognition they deserve for their dedication to care for others. The awards ceremony will take place in September, celebrating the winners and achievements of all Lambeth carers.

Establishing the awards

The Council and our partners have established the Lambeth Carers Awards to recognise the significant contribution of the borough’s carers, professionals and organisations. The awards are part of the council’s commitment to making visibility, recognition, identification and awareness of carers one of our seven priorities for supporting Lambeth carers outlined in the new Carers Strategy 2024-29.

Carers in Lambeth

Over 18,000 unpaid carers in Lambeth look after family and friends who couldn’t get by without their support. A carer is anyone who provides unpaid assistance to a friend or loved one due to illness, disability, mental health issues, or addiction. Caring can be rewarding but can also significantly impact carers’ lives. Lots of people might even be carers without realising it.

Lambeth Carers Strategy

During Carers Week (10 to 16 June), we highlighted our new Lambeth Carers Strategy published earlier this year. The strategy, coproduced with our partners, sets out how we will continue to work together and includes our key priorities to help us ensure we provide the best support possible to our unpaid carers, who are invaluable to our community.
