From a Mayor’s Award to the Social Enterprise Award, seven different winners were announced at the annual ceremony organised by Lambeth Council.
Cllr Claire Holland, the Leader of Lambeth Council, said: “Congratulations to all the winners and those nominated for their contributions to our wonderful borough. This year’s Lambeth Civic Awards were a brilliant celebration of everything that is great about Lambeth.
“We brought back the awards a few years ago because we know how much work so many people do in our borough and for our residents, and we felt it was right that those who go above and beyond are celebrated.
“I want to say a big thank you to everyone who was involved, from the 280 nominees, the organisers, everyone who attended the ceremony and of course the Lambeth Civic Award winners.”
All the nominations were made by Lambeth residents between December and January after the call went out to recognise individuals, groups and organisations doing amazing work in the borough.
Following the five-week nomination period, thirty-four finalists were shortlisted in the seven categories ahead of the award winners being named on the night.
Cllr Donatus Anyanwu, Lambeth’s Cabinet Member for Stronger Communities, Leisure, and Sport, said: “It was a pleasure to attend the Lambeth Civic Awards again this year, and to hear so many inspiring stories.
“It’s such a great chance to celebrate all the amazing work that people do for Lambeth, and a privilege to talk to our residents and share their deep passion for their community.
“Huge congratulations to the winners and finalists for all the amazing work they do for Lambeth.”
