Lambeth: Two playgrounds revamped for local families

The playground has undergone a full refresh with three brand-new pieces of equipment designed for children aged four to seven-years-old:

  • A multi-use climber
  • A hop and climb structure
  • A new set of swings

Norwood Park has also benefited from significant improvements. A new multi-use play structure has been installed as the key attraction for seven to 12-year-olds. In addition, existing equipment has been fully refurbished, and the much-loved hammock swing has now been replaced.

The £62,348 works were shaped by local community input, including Friends of Norwood Park, ensuring the playground continues to meet the needs of families who use it most.

Word from the cabinet

Cllr Donatus Anyanwu, Cabinet Member for Stronger Communities said: “These upgrades at Max Roach Park and Norwood Park show our continued commitment to investing in high-quality play spaces for every child in Lambeth.

“Playgrounds are where imaginations grow, friendships are made, and families come together. I’m pleased that thanks to community input and council investment, children now have brighter, safer and more exciting places to enjoy.”

Building better parks across Lambeth

The refurbishments form part of Lambeth Council’s wider programme to modernise and improve parks and green spaces across the borough ensuring they remain welcoming, accessible and vibrant for all residents.
