The three summer schools are
Ignite Dance
- 14 August – 2 September
Mon – Fri 10.30am – 4pm (excluding Bank Holiday Monday) - Age: 11 – 16 years
In this inspiring three-week dance course you will get to explore your creativity by fusing different dance styles including street dance, hip hop and contemporary. You will work with a professional choreographer. No experience necessary, just bring bags of energy and enthusiasm! Each participant will gain a Bronze Arts Award which is a nationally recognised qualification. For Diversity wannabes or those with two left feet, all abilities welcome!
Innovate Drama
- 14 August – 2 September
Mon – Fri 10.30am – 4pm (excluding Bank Holiday Monday) - Age: 11 – 16 years
Through games, exercises, storytelling and movement, you will develop in confidence, use your imagination, have fun and create a play! No experience necessary. Each participant will gain a Bronze Arts Award which is a nationally recognised qualification.
Rhyme & Reason Spoken Word
- 21 August – 2 September
Mon-Fri 10.30am – 5pm (excluding Bank Holiday Monday) - Age: 16 – 25 years
Interested in poetry, spoken word and performing? Want to take your writing to the next level? In this friendly, supportive environment you can explore writing for live performance. The week will be facilitated by acclaimed poet and musician Joshua Idehen who will offer creative guidance and feedback on your writing. Poets, MCs, spoken word artists are all welcome. For both new-on-the-scene enthusiasts and MC connoisseurs.
“The Burn”
All participants of all three summer schools will perform at our Summer School Performance THE BURN on Friday 1 and Saturday 2 September.

Costs are:
- £20 for the two week Rhyme and Reason Summer School (discount for residents of Hyde, Metropolitan and L&Q housing)
- £30 for the three week Innovate Drama and Ignite Dance Summer Schools (discount for weeks for residents of L&Q, Metropolitan and Hyde housing)
There are 20 places for each course. You must be available for all the sessions and performance dates. All welcome but priority given to residents of Hyde, Metropolitan and L&Q housing.
