We have written to Lambeth’s Jewish community leadership to express our sorrow, to provide reassurance and share a message of solidarity. We will continue to engage with faith and community organisations as we work to strengthen community cohesion and tackle hate crime in our diverse borough.
Terror attacks, committed anywhere in the world, aim to spread fear, intimidation and despair. In Lambeth we are committed to celebrating our diversity and our strong social cohesion, rejecting antisemitism and hatred of any kind.
We remain fully committed to working with the Jewish community and all our faith groups and all our communities to remain resolute and united.
The Met Police advise that here in London they are undertaking extra patrols and ask that the public be vigilant at events and in public places. If you see anything suspicious residents are advised to trust their instincts and report it. That can be done online at met.police.uk, but in an emergency always call 999.
