The ballot recorded a 76.6% approval from businesses, reaffirming their commitment to the BID’s vision. This is Clapham BID, established in 2014, has played a pivotal role in supporting local businesses and will continue to do so over the next five years.
Cllr Danny Adilypour, Lambeth Council’s Deputy Leader, said: “I welcome this strong backing for This Is Clapham Business Improvement District and thank them on behalf of businesses and residents in the area for their efforts.
“Clapham has a thriving town centre with wide appeal and This Is Clapham have made a significant contribution that is now mandated to continue for the next five years. The council looks forward to continuing our working partnership with this important BID.”
The key figures from the ballot are as follows:
- Total number of eligible businesses in the BID area: 442
- Total returned ballot papers: 201
- Total valid votes received: 200
- Total rateable value of valid votes cast: £12,382,500
- Total number of valid votes in favor of the BID: 154
- Percentage of votes cast in favour of the BID: 76.62%
- Percentage of the total rateable value of votes cast in favour of the BID: 87%
