The town centre library boasts a fun and engaging children’s area, a suite of 30 computers with free wifi, more than 35,000 books, and technology and equipment to give people with disabilities access to the wonderful books and facilities.
There are the usual regular classes and activities for all ages, found throughout Lambeth’s libraries, and increased opening times to 54 hours per week.
Librarians and library assistants are on site during all opening hours and happy to help.
The cinema, run by Picturehouse, has four screens showing all the latest films, and there is a café and bar area open to both cinema and library users, with a spacious seating areas to relax or work.

Cllr Sonia Winifred, Lambeth Cabinet Member for Equalities & Culture, said: “I’m delighted that West Norwood Library is now open, it looks wonderful and is going to be a fantastic asset for the community.”
West Norwood Library and Picturehouse is fully wheelchair accessible with a lift and 3 disabled parking bays. Every screen will have an infrared system to play audio-described tracks (when provided by the film’s distributor). This offers voice commentary, through headphones provided, which describes the film to those who would benefit.
