Age UK Lambeth launches ‘MYHoHoHo’ Christmas Day meal service

Age UK Lambeth is determined to address the issues of loneliness and isolation, which affects1.2 million older people across the UK.

“This time of year is often challenging for many”, said Paul Coles, CEO at Age UK Lambeth. “With your support, we can provide companionship, warmth, and vital resources to those in need.”

Extra helping

The aim is to match older people who will be on their own with local volunteers to provide Christmas meals. Age UK Lambeth wants volunteers to sign up to cook an extra helping of their Christmas Day meal and deliver it to an isolated and lonely neighbour, bringing companionship and good cheer.

Essential support

They are also asking the community to help generate funds to help keep Age UK Lambeth’s services operational over the festive period and directly support essential programs such as home visits, social activities, and essential care for vulnerable older adults in the area. Lambeth residents can donate and join in the festive spirit through JustGiving, ensuring that no older person in Lambeth feels forgotten during the holiday season.
