Lambeth-based organisations with an annual income of £250,000 or less can apply for grants of up to £20,000 over 2 years. Organisations with total income above £5,000 in their last financial year should not apply for more than 50% of their annual turnover.
Word from the Cabinet
Cllr Donatus Anyanwu, Cabinet member for Stronger Communities, said: “Lambeth Community Fund has been supporting community organisations to get things done since it was established in 2008 by Lambeth Council transferring trusteeship of the Pedlar’s Acre endowment.
“The charity is designed to allow people to apply for help easily, and we are happy to see it support the borough today and long into the future.”
Who can apply for funding?
All applicants must address at least one of four themes:
- Resilient Futures – helping communities create a clean, vibrant and climate-resilient borough. This theme is about environment-focused work that will improve the local area so people can lead healthier, happier lives.
- Safer Communities – focusing on work that will improve safety and community connections and community projects that will help everyone feel safe and secure in all places.
- A Place Called Home – creating the conditions to grow up and age well in Lambeth. This theme is about projects promoting healthy and active lives, where everyone can contribute to an inclusive economy and have a place to call home.
- A Fair and Equitable Borough – showing a strong commitment to making Lambeth a borough of equity and justice. This theme is about projects focused on tackling poverty and/or supporting Black, Asian and Multiethnic residents, LGBTQ+ residents, disabled residents or women and girls.
Who can apply?
Your application must address one of the above themes and your organisation must be based in Lambeth. Applications should also show how you:
- Work with the most disadvantaged members of the community, who are not currently accessing services.
- Actively involve the communities who will benefit from the grant in planning projects and making it happen.
- Work in partnership or link with other Lambeth organisations.
Lambeth Community Fund encourage applications from organisations they have not previously funded and will prioritise funding towards these organisations this year.

Most of the funding available is flexible, however, there is some specific funding to meet certain criteria. As well as the main fund themes, please highlight it in your application if your project also:
- Benefits the Portuguese-speaking community.
- Supports young people aged under 25 into positive activities. This includes supporting NEET young people (those not in education, employment, or training) into education, training, or apprenticeships
